NumericField::create(...)->setHTML5(true) might do it
It's possible we were using Swift_SmtpTransport to localhost and then setting up the actual host to be able to send through SES, which is probably a bit more work
was going to say, I'm pretty sure you can configure SwiftMailer to do it
If you're wanting to use the SES smtp endpoints you can do it as per the documentation here: https://docs.silverstripe.org/en/4/developer_guides/email/
If you want to use the AWS SDK to send through SES then upgrading that module is probably the best way
