@Mo got the extra parameters working by hooking into
@wmk any ideas on the tax calculation for doing
round(unit price * tax) * quantity per line item and then summing that for the checkout
(3.33 *1.2) * 12 to give the value 48
rather than the current solution which does
(3.33*12) * 1.2 which results in 47.95

reason being is the site needs to allow for some items to be taxable and others not

OrderItem::updateCalculateTotal() in conjunction with a custom tax rate?
And I guess add a custom modifier to try and make sense of it all?
I don't use SilverShop though, so I dunno, I was just scanning the code...
yeh, its basically a nightmare - because then add staff discounts and shipping and the whole thing becomes a fudge, and they are already complaining that the site is slow due to the current VAT calculations
