I use the kits

Hels

after you sign up does it have instructions for silverstripe?

dorsetdigital

There's nothing SilverStripe specific. The kit is deployed with a single JS file. So you can just add this to your page with a Requirements call in the usual way

dorsetdigital

Using the kits is in theory more efficient, since it only loads the subsets you need, and does everything asynchronously

dorsetdigital

As opposed to loading the entire CSS with the page, which can be a bit bulky

phyzical

oh really? i thought it still included everything

phyzical

so it has magic like webpack coolies, is that on the silverstripe level in requirements?

Hels

so I’ve just registered, & it says to use it like this: Copy your kit's code into the <head> of each template or page in your project where you want to use Font Awesome.. so If I just put that in the main http://Page.ss it should work right? no need for requirement in controller?

phyzical

end of the day all requirments (mostly) does is make a list of all the scripts and put them in your http://page.ss head anyway

It doesn’t really explain what a “kit” is….

phyzical

it comes down to if you want to include in say your own bundler or just let the browser do it stuff

phyzical

or maybe you only want a particiular part, just use a kit as dorset suggested

hi dev/build runs fine but it often gives me blue entries with for example Field SiteTree.ClassName: changed to varchar(255) default 'Page' check ("ClassName" in ('SilverStripe\CMS\Model\SiteTree', 'Page', 'LayoutPage', etc .. all is fine but i want to get rid of blue entries in dev/build. any tips?
