we are trying to fix something we broke in the first place.
$this->publishRecursive() if you really have to. But agree with above.
If it's not working, I'd suggest raising an issue with some specific code... it should do what you want, and if it's not, it could be a bug
the client has basically said: this whole concept about draft images I dont want to ever deal with.

but I thought that in the meantime I basically just make sure every file is published, no matter what.
You can remove versioning from the files
