Logic like disable_default_prefix is important for calculating the prefix 😉

@taoceanz you're right there's no one place you can get that prefix; However you can copy the code from FluentSiteTreeExtension::updateRelativeLink() to get that

@gs I had this issue a moment ago. I cleared my cookies / session and re-logged in and it fixed it.

but in the CMS the page is always visible in all locales

You can set a config option that requires you to publish a page in a locale for that to be visible on the frontend,
